About the meeting

Afternoon
The meeting will start in the afternoon on Friday 26th of January and will continue through to lunchtime on Sunday 28th. The talks will be selected from the abstracts. We anticipate a poster session, which will take place in the hall adjacent to the meeting room of the Low Wood Hotel.
The meeting covers all aspects of the RNA biology, including but not limited to: co-transcriptional and post-transcriptional processing, splicing, editing, export, translation, localization, stability/turnover, short and long non-coding RNAs, RNA in disease.
On Saturday afternoon there will be a time slot for outdoor or indoor activities. For those of you who prefer not to venture onto higher grounds in the Lake District, Low Wood Hotel offers a 50ft swimming pool, outdoor hot tub and a wide range of other leisure facilities.
All meals will be served in the Low Wood Hotel Restaurant. Refreshments breaks will be provided throughout the day.
There will be a trade exhibition of our generous sponsors in the hall adjacent to the meeting room of the Low Wood Hotel.
The fees, which cover the meeting, meals and accommodation are:
Single room accommodation (for PIs): £310
Double room accommodation (for Students and Postdocs): £260
The RNA UK meetings are very popular, and we will probably need to limit the number of participants to 2-3 people per lab. Thus, completing the registration form does not guarantee a place at the meeting. Soon after the registration deadline, you will receive an email telling you whether your presentation has been accepted. You will then be asked to pay the registration fee to secure your place at the meeting.
There are two fellowships (one for Student and one for Postdoc) covering the registration fee, which are sponsored by the RNA Society.The recipients will be selected from the eligible abstracts. A number of bursaries will also be available to be awarded on case by case basis.
Biochemical Society members can also apply for travel grants.
